What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty.
Do I need to register in advance?

Yes. We ask that volunteers register in advance so we can make sure we have enough volunteers for every shift.
What is the largest group you can accommodate?

As of now, we can accommodate groups of up to 10 people at our grocery market and up to 10 people at our clothing market.
What is your drug and alcohol policy?

We do not allow or tolerate the use of drugs or alcohol while volunteering.
What are the age requirements?

No one under the age of 16 may volunteer in our grocery market. Volunteers ages 14–15 may be able to volunteer in our clothing sort.
Can I complete court-ordered community service?

Yes. We will consider court-ordered community service on a case-by-case basis. However, we will not accept community service related to charges of a sexual nature.
Is there a secure place to leave my belongings?

We have some small lockers available for purses and jackets, but we advise that you bring only what you really need. Items left in vehicles must be placed out of view and locked. The Action Center is not liable for stolen items.
What happens after I sign up?

You will receive an email confirming your volunteer shift. After registering, please arrive at the center for your scheduled shift, where you will be greeted by one of our volunteer coordinators.
