Back-to-school season can be exciting for students but may create financial stress for many families. Today, families spend an average of more than $890 per child on school supplies and back-to-school essentials, making it one of the largest annual household expenses. Rising costs for school supplies, food, housing, and utilities have made it even more difficult for many Jefferson County families to prepare for the school year.
With your support, the Action Center will provide school supplies to more than 5,000 students across Jefferson County, helping them start the school year confident, prepared, and ready to learn. We work directly with Jeffco Public Schools to identify the supplies students need most and ensure resources reach families efficiently.
Through our online Back to School Supply Drive, you can purchase discounted backpacks and supply kits that are shipped directly to the Action Center for distribution. Because this program is 100% community-funded, every donation helps local students access the tools they need for a successful school year.

Receive Free School Supplies
Is your child enrolled in Jeffco Public Schools and getting ready for the new school year? The Action Center is offering free school supplies for students in Pre-K through 12th grade.
To receive supplies, families must schedule an appointment to attend our Back-to-School Supply Distribution.

Appointments open June 22 and close July 27, 2026.

Distribute School Supplies
Help students start the school year with the supplies and confidence they need to succeed! With the support of volunteers like you, the Action Center will provide backpacks and school supplies to more than 5,000 students across Jefferson County. This is one of our largest community events of the year, and we couldn't do it without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers.

Parking Notice:
During the distribution event on August 5 and 6, parking is limited for community members receiving supplies. Volunteers are asked to park across the street at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center.
