Denver7 Gives Spotlight: The Action Center Steps Up as Food Need Surges
When food benefits are delayed and shelves are running low, our community turns to organizations that refuse to pause. We’re proud to be one of four nonprofits featured by Denver7 Gives, receiving a $2,000 grant that will help keep our pantry stocked and families fed during this challenging season.
At the Action Center, we’ve seen double the number of families needing food assistance in recent weeks, and this spike is no short-term trend. As Denver7’s coverage explains, the impact of the government shutdown is real and urgent. Thanks to the generosity of Denver7 viewers and the Scripps Howard Fund, we can purchase additional food and supplies - keeping our shelves full and our neighbors supported.
services are built on dignity and connection, not just distribution. While some programs ask families to prove need, we remove that barrier and meet people where they are, offering help with compassion and respect. For many, this support means the difference between skipping a meal and feeling seen and supported.
